WHY BILZ FOR SOURCE ISOLATION

When isolating disruptive vibrations, a distinction can be made between source isolation and receiver isolation:

Source isolation refers to the vibration-isolated mounting of a machine whose impulse or sinusoidal vibration forces need to be avoided. This applies to machines such as presses, stamping machines, injection molding machines, compressors, etc. In this process, the environment, including neighboring machines, the building, and people, is also protected from disruptive forces.

Receiver isolation, on the other hand, involves protecting vibration-sensitive machines (e.g., measuring machines) from disruptive ground vibrations. The production or characterization of increasingly smaller components, down to structures consisting of just a few molecules or atoms, imposes the highest demands on the equipment and their vibration isolation.

BILZ is an optimal choice in the field of receiver and source isolation because the company offers a comprehensive combination of technological expertise, customer-oriented solutions, and high-quality products.

Unlike many competitors that offer only standardized products, BILZ also focuses on developing customized solutions. The company takes into account the specific requirements of each industry and customer to ensure that vibration isolation achieves maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

BILZ places great emphasis on customer satisfaction. From the initial contact through project implementation to after-sales support, the company provides comprehensive assistance and strives to make every customer relationship a long-term partnership.

FAQ Source Isolation

What to do if the industrial plant causes disturbing noise due to vibrations?

You have come to exactly the right place because we are experts for the vibration-insulated mounting of production machinery. A major part of our consulting service regarding vibration technology and vibration isolation is the measurement of vibration emissions or immissions on site. Based on the measuring results, we will find vibration technology solutions to keep within the legally prescribed limit values.

What to do for vibration isolation in case of noticeable floor vibrations?

These can be attributed to a variety of causes. Possible causes of vibration emission (coming from the periphery) are often amplified by low resonant frequencies of floor slabs: Factory traffic, production machines, … These must either be tackled at the source (source isolation) or machines sensitive to vibrations must be protected from disruptive floor vibrations (receiver isolation). You can find definitions of the technical terms in the Bilz Vibration Technology Glossary.

What to do when the industrial machine is droning and loud?

Noises being emitted may have a variety of causes. The reason is quite often the propagation of structural-borne noise onto operating equipment in the vicinity, stimulating the resonance frequency of the equipment. This can be alleviated by vibration-isolated mounting of the source of disturbance. Extreme cases may also require an enclosure in the form of a soundproof cabin. We would be happy to advise you.

How does BILZ determine the best source isolation method?

We analyze total mass, dimensions, center of gravity, support points, disturbance frequency, and possibly dynamic influences to design optimal isolation. Further information can be found under Contact in the contact form ‘Machine Installation Inquiry’.

Can source isolation help meet legal noise and vibration limits?

Reference can be made here, for example, to the DIN 4150 standard, which provides reference values for the assessment of vibration immissions for different impact locations. It is important to note that a vibration measurement and analysis at the point of impact is essential for an exact assessment. On this basis and in combination with data on the vibration source, vibration-optimized mounting (source isolation) of the source of the disturbance can be carried out. Compliance with the specified limit values can only be fully verified by means of a second measurement with the source of interference then isolated.

PROCESS OF SOURCE IsoLATION

The process of source isolation is divided into four basic steps to effectively reduce vibrations and disturbances in industrial applications:

  1. ANALYSIS AND ASSESSMENT
  2. DESIGN AND SELECTION OF THE Vibration isolation
  3. INSTALLATION OF THE Vibration isolation systems
  4. INSPECTION AND FINE-TUNING
